Biography

Hispanic-American actress and playwright with more than 35 years of professional experience. Serrano began her career as a dancer in 1987, until acting opened new doors for her when she was cast in the leading role of the television series Brigada Central, a performance that propelled her to international fame.

On stage, she has been directed by distinguished figures such as John Malkovich, Omar Grasso, and Daniel Börh, among others, and she has performed in more than 20 television series across Spain, Puerto Rico, and Venezuela.

In 2008, she moved to London to study at the Actor’s Center, and in 2012 she relocated to Los Angeles, CA, where she spent nearly a decade expanding her career. During this time, she worked under the direction of acclaimed filmmakers such as John Finn and Bobby Moresco, while honing her artistic skills at renowned schools including The Beverly Hills Playhouse, Ivana Chubbuck Studio, The Actor’s Gang with Tim Robbins, UCB Improv, and Santa Monica College, among others.

Her international trajectory, with experience across diverse stages and cultures, has shaped her versatility and depth as an actress and performer.

She is currently pursuing studies in Narrative and Creative Writing at the Escuela de Letras in Madrid and at the Escuela Contemporánea de Humanidades under the mentorship of Alejandro Gándara. She has also trained in playwriting and screenwriting in English at Santa Monica College, Los Angeles, CA. Alongside her creative work, she leads private acting and coaching workshops for professional actors in both English and Spanish.

Serrano was a finalist in the International One Minute Monologue competition in Burbank, Los Angeles, with her piece Susana’s Confession. She is also the author of several short films in English and Spanish, as well as two published plays: Cariño, ya que estás de pie... and Jamás sin ti. The former was produced and directed by Serrano herself in a micro-theatre format and was selected to participate in the International Short+Sweet Hollywood Latino Festival in Los Angeles, California, where it also received a full staged reading.
